Primary responsibilities are the maintenance and repair of various remote repeater locations for Bell Aliant throughout the Labrador region. Some of the items that will require maintenance are as follows: Diesel generators and transfer switches(15 to 50 KW units) /Fuel supply and transfer systems/Ventilation equipment/Control systems/Solar arrays/Wind generation systems

  • The Successful candidate for the above position should possess the following qualifications and experience:
    Strong analytical and problem solving ability along with ability to organize.
    Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision in a fast-paced environment, while effectively managing multiple tasks. Graduate of an industrial electrical program with a journeyman rating.
    Valid Drivers License. The successful candidate will be required to travel regularly on commercial aircraft or helicopters throughout the Labrador region. Once in these remote communities the candidate will be required to travel via ATV and snowmobile as required.

    Innu Health Commission, Sheshatshiu, NL: The Health Commission of the Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation is seeking a motivated registered nurse to implement and deliver Community Health Nursing Programs and Continuing Care Programs. The successful applicant will work as a team member to assist the Sheshatshiu Innu to achieve optimal health.
    Main Duties: Assist with the delivery of prenatal programs, including home visits, group sessions, and individual counseling at prenatal clinics. Delivers a postnatal follow-up program that ensures the needs of the infant and family are met through assessment, counseling, and making appropriate referrals. Delivers a communicable disease program together with a regional communicable disease nurse and Medical Officer of Health. Liaises with other Band programs to ensure a holistic approach is taken to address health issues. Act as a facilitator in health promotion and health education programs in the school and community.
    Assists with the delivery of provincial immunization program
    Work with Home & Community Care Team to maintain the work plan for the program. Provide Case Management for clients of the Sheshatshiu HomeCare Program. Provide supervision, support and instruction to homecare workers
    Consult with other members of the health care team to ensure best client care
    Prepare and compile reports as required
    Other Duties as required
    Qualifications and Experience requirements:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an approved college or university OR graduation from a School of Nursing AND a Diploma/Certificate in Public Health/Community Health Nursing
    Registered with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador
    At least one years experience in Public Health/Community Health Nursing preferred
    Knowledge of community health programs and provincial public health laws and regulations
    Knowledge of Home Care Programming
    Knowledge of program development and budgeting
    Valid Driver’s license and willing to travel
    Hours of Work: 70 hours bi-weekly(8:30 to 4:30pm)
    Annual Leave: 30 days
