- The main objective of the
NL SD Employment Benefit is
to assist unemployed insured participants to obtain skills
training that will enable them to prepare for, obtain and maintain
employment.
- It is also intended to support individuals who
lack marketable skills and are able to demonstrate that training is the
best option for them to re-enter the workforce.

- The main objective of the
NL JCP Employment Benefit
is to provide insured participants with meaningful work
experience under projects developed by sponsors.
- At the end of the project participants will have
recent work experience to add to their resume, which in turn will help
increase their chances of finding long-term employment.
- This program provides non-insurable taxable
employment.
- Participants are expected to accept insurable
employment if it is offered to them while working under the JCP.
NL Wage Subsidy Program
- The main objective of the
NL WS Program is to
assistant unemployed insured participants who are experiencing
difficulty in obtaining/maintaining employment by providing them with
valuable on-the-job work experience.
- This is a client-focused benefit that is geared
towards individuals who have barriers which prevent them from obtaining/maintaining
employment.
- This program provides insurable taxable
employment.
- The expectation is that it will lead to permanent
employment for the participant at the end of the program.
NL
